Spearfish generally experiences mild winters with average temperatures in the 20s. Average Black Hills snowfall equals 200 inches or more annually with elevations around 6000 feet. The region receives plenty of snowfall perfect for skiing and snowboarding. Adventurers also flock to Spearfish for ice climbing up the frozen walls of Spearfish Canyon and fishing in its cool, clean waters.
